Channa biriyani is a flavourful vegetarian biriyani meal packed with fibre and protein and very easy to make it..
I always try to make this biriyani twice in a week. my family loves to have it…. Channa is a good protein source and I find it easy this way to incorporate in my family diet… Though it’s vegetarian my family loves to have it with chicken fry… combination is superb… And I feel this is on of the easiest biriyani recipe..

Ingredients
- 1 cup channa /chickpeas
- 11/4 cup basmati rice
- 2 tbsp ghee
- 1 tbsp oil
- 3 cardomom
- 5 clove
- 1 inch cinnamon
- 2 onion sliced
- 1 1/2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- 1 big tomato
- 3 tbsp coriander leaves
- 2 tbsp mint leaves
- 2 Greenchilli
- 2 tsp redchilli powder
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 1/2 tsp garam mssals
- 2 tbsp yogurt
- salt to taste

Instructions
- Soak the channa for minimum 6 hours then pressure cook it with salt .
- In a pan add oil, ghee then add the whole spices followed by onions.
- Then add ginger garlic paste and cook till raw smell goes... Then add tomato and cook till mushy
- Add coriander leaves and mint leaves followed by all powders .Add little water if the masala seems dry.
- Finally add yoghurt ,cooked channa and check for salt then add water and boil it
- Add the soaked rice and cook till done .
